Rocky Mountain Team Survivor (RMTS) is a 501(c)3 organization run entirely by volunteers. RMTS is a health, education and fitness program for all women cancer survivors. Through exercise, fitness and other activities RMTS encourages women cancer survivors to take an active role in regaining and rediscovering their physical and emotional health, strength, and well-being. Programs are offered in the Boulder and Longmont areas. Programs include hikes, cardio and yoga classes, educational lectures as well as social get togethers. RMTS also helps women connect with other like-minded organizations in the front range area as well as keeping tabs on state level happenings.
Boulder coordinator, Dora Briegleb says, “as for volunteer help with RMTS, we can always use help with professionals who are in the fitness business (personal trainers, yoga teachers, dance instructors, swim coaches, hiking guides) to lead physical activities or classes for us, massage therapists who can provide massages, reflexologists, nutritionists, dietitians, acupuncturists, anyone who can give us these kind of services or lectures on health matters. Also occasionally when one of our group is going thru treatment, meals provided for them and their family are very welcome, driving them to Doctors’ offices, or even cleaning their home.”
